Terms and Conditions

1. Agreement

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Persona, Persona Pro, Persona Pro +, related documentation, and websites operated by BeYourselfLabs (together, the “Software” or “Service”). By installing, activating, licensing, or using the Software, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

2. Licence to use

Subject to these Terms, BeYourselfLabs grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Software on devices you own or control, as provided, for its intended purpose.

A Persona Pro or Persona Pro + licence is a licence to use the Software as-is. It is not a sale of the Software, source code, or intellectual property. The licence does not grant you any right to modify, reverse engineer (except to the limited extent permitted by applicable law that cannot be waived), redistribute, sublicense, rent, lease, or otherwise change the Software, its packaging, branding, or the licence terms themselves.

You may not remove or obscure proprietary notices, circumvent licence checks, share licence keys beyond the scope authorised for your purchase, or create derivative works based on the Software.

3. Licence revocation and refunds

We may suspend or revoke a licence without refund if we reasonably determine that the licence has been abused, that these Terms have not been upheld, or that the Software has been used in a way that harms BeYourselfLabs, other users, or third parties. Examples include (without limitation) key sharing beyond authorised seats, redistribution of paid builds, circumvention of licence enforcement, fraud, or material breach of these Terms.

Except where required by mandatory consumer law that cannot be excluded, licence fees are non-refundable once a key has been issued or activated.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Software for any unlawful purpose
• Interfere with or disrupt the Software, related services, or other users’ lawful use
• Misrepresent affiliation with BeYourselfLabs or claim endorsement we have not given
• Use the Software in a way that violates Cursor’s, Open VSX’s, or any other third-party terms that apply to you

5. As-is disclaimer of warranties

The Software is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Software will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or compatible with every version of Cursor or every operating system configuration. Cost and usage figures shown by Persona are estimates only and are not a substitute for Cursor’s own billing.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BeYourselfLabs and its contributors accept no liability for any damage arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Software.

This includes, without limitation, direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages; loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business interruption; corrupted profiles or userdata directories; lost Cursor sessions; or costs of substitute software—whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or otherwise—even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

You use Persona, Persona Pro, Persona Pro +, and the Software entirely at your own risk and as is. Where liability cannot be fully excluded, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Software shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the applicable licence in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or zero if you use only free Persona.

7. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for backing up important data, verifying persona and project assignments in Persona before relying on them, and complying with your employer’s, clients’, and Cursor’s policies. Switching accounts or userdata directories can affect editor state; you accept that risk.

8. Intellectual property

The Software, branding, documentation, and related materials remain the property of BeYourselfLabs and its licensors. No rights are granted except the limited licence in these Terms.

9. Privacy

Our handling of information is described in the Privacy Policy. In short: we never collect your code or Cursor credentials. Persona and Persona Pro store project, repository URL, and persona data locally. Persona Pro + may collect voluntary account details and transmit Cursor usage, tokens, and project metadata for personas—not code, and not PII beyond what you gave us to maintain a beyourselflabs.com account. We do not use advertising cookies.

10. Changes and termination

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We may discontinue or change the Software at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including licence restrictions, disclaimers, and liability limits) survive termination or revocation.

11. General

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and BeYourselfLabs regarding the Software and supersede prior conflicting communications on the same subject. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
